In reality, Velociraptor was a genus of dromaeosaurid theropod dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous period, inhabiting what is now the Mongolia-China border alongside many other unique species. Roughly the size of a wolf, Velociraptor was covered in feathers and possessed a distinctly bird-like appearance-far different from its cinematic portrayal and more closely resembling a flightless hawk.
This unique set allows collectors to compare a Velociraptor foot claw alongside a fossilized claw, highlighting the contrast between anatomical reconstruction and paleontological reference. Both claws were hand-sculpted and hand-painted by Very Museum key artist Oskar Ankarudd. Each claw is displayed on a prop-auction-style acrylic base and can be removed for closer inspection.

I verkligheten var Velociraptor ett släkte av dromaeosaurid-theropoddinosaurier från sena kritaperioden, som levde i det som nu är gränsen mellan Mongoliet och Kina tillsammans med många andra unika arter. Velociraptor, ungefär lika stor som en varg, var täckt av fjädrar och hade ett tydligt fågelliknande utseende – mycket annorlunda än dess filmiska skildring och mer lik en flygoförmögen hök.
Denna unika uppsättning gör det möjligt för samlare att jämföra en Velociraptorns fotklo med en fossiliserad klo, vilket belyser kontrasten mellan anatomisk rekonstruktion och paleontologiska referenser. Båda klorna skulpterades för hand och målades för hand av Very Museums nyckelkonstnär Oskar Ankarudd. Varje klo visas på en akrylbas i rekvisitaauktionsstil och kan tas bort för närmare inspektion.
